#MOONX: final lament f/ june ann d'angelo (NSFW photos by allure)

FINAL LAMENT

The curtains were half drawn; the floor was swept
And strewn with rushes; rosemary and may
Lay thick upon the bed on which I lay,
Where, through the lattice, ivy-shadows crept.
He leaned above me, thinking that I slept
And could not hear him; but I heard him say,
"Poor child, poor child"; and as he turned away
Came a deep silence, and I knew he wept.
He did not touch the shroud, or raise the fold
That hid my face, or take my hand in his,
Or ruffle the smooth pillows for my head.
He did not love me living; but once dead
He pitied me; and very sweet it is
To know he still is warm though I am cold.

#MOONstl: The Mourning Society of St. Louis visit Bellefontaine Cemetery

i took to the many winding paths of Bellefontaine Cemetery at the end of N. Kingshighway this past weekend to learn all about the history of Victorian death in America. The Mourning Society of St. Louis was decked out in garb of the era to teach visitors at their event (Consolation of Memories: Mourning and Death in the Nineteenth Century) all about the major causes of death at the time and funeral customs, fears and superstitions. i highly recommend checking out their website at the link below and check out their upcoming events. we were even let in on a little secret about an upcoming event: Bellefontaine Cemetery plans to honor one of their most famous Civil War patrons with a full military funeral in 2017...you will not want to miss that!

click HERE to learn more about The Mourning Society of St. Louis

click HERE to learn more about Bellefontaine Cemetery

in the Hotchkiss Chapel we were welcomed by the Mourning Society to attend the funeral of 14 year old Charlotte E Willis who is actually buried at Bellefontaine

this character told us all about taphophobia which is the fear of premature burial that was alive and well in the Victorian era. there were no stethoscopes yet to determine if the deceased had truly become deceased and this really created a frenzy. at this very crypt, a female was buried and her lover came and when her lover came to the crypt to entomb another family member, her bones fell to his feet. she was buried alive and was trying desperately to get out.

no wonder so many babies were dying of disease. this is a bottle flask that would be left with the baby in the crib and only cleaned about once every 3 weeks. so basically these babies were drinking bottles of bacterial goo. this is actually the same shape of culture flasks used in modern day scientific research.

#pokeMOON: females aged 18-29 look desperately for balls, but not yours

data from SurveyMonkey Intelligence (siliconera.com)

so, you can't go anywhere without seeing someone playing Pokemon Go. with about 90% of players in major cities or urban areas, it is no surprise to see this phenomena take STL by storm. and, guys, you might want to pay attention, because it looks like females aged 18-29 are having more fun finding imaginary balls rather than playing with yours. (see below, it should be noted that Niantic has not released any demographic data from its users, so this data is third-party from SurveyMonkey Intelligence)

as i have downloaded the app myself and began playing, I find myself in the same category as those females a tad bit younger than myself...desperately seeking balls!!! Nadoz Cafe has offered special deals to Pokemon Go players and Caitlin Ford over at Notch is doing a whole series of pokemon-inspired hair colors! personally, i have made it to level 15 and have found that catching imaginary creatures is the perfect companion to my Bear-walking adventures and also makes for a great way to get over that ex that thought you were actually playing with other people's real balls instead of imaginary ones! here's a few pics to peruse and make you laugh. send us your own #pidgeytitty pics so we can post them in our next #pokeMOON update!

started 7.12.16 and have made it to Level 15. i decided to go with Team Instinct only for the reason that one of my friends was on the same team. i really feel that Pokemon Go should team up with some different brands (like my faves, Patagonia or Free People) and offer wardrobe upgrades. i would love for my lady to be wearing an awesome bison hat from Patagonia!

“You're off to Great Places!
Today is your day!
Your mountain is waiting,
So... get on your way!”

i'm glad it was as great for you as it was for me ;)

sorry Bear, you don't anymore :(

#pidgeytitty on STL influencer and owner of www.weirdcult.com, Laura Heying

getting in on the #pidgeytitty action myself

even Playmate photographer, Michael Abrams, got some #pidgeytitty (eevee-style) last time he visited from NYC

found this male Nidoran in the lobby of my apartment. i guess these are the only pokemon with gender? i'm really interested in the mating patterns of this particular species...haha.

Bear still doesn't know what to think about these damn pidgeys!!!

i'm still trying to figure out if this is a pokestop over near South Grand...

Forest Park has been a fun place for Bear to explore and find tons of towers and gyms and wild pokemon running about...

we always catch about 4-5 pokemon on our short little 10 minute walks to Forest Park.

i caught this little pidgey while i was laying out at #jerryspool

local rocker and model, Stacey Rios, doesn't play pokemon herself but she doesn't mind cuddling up next to a weedle every now and again...

...or a pidgey...

even local hair guru, Caitlin Ford (@caitlinfordhair) from Notch STL, has caught the pokemon bug going around and you can constantly catch her posting little updates on social media and she even just did a model call for pokemon-inspired hair colors...

Charmander-inspired hair color from STL hair guru Caitlin Ford. make sure to follow her instagram (@caitlinfordhair) so you don't miss her next model call...

#MOONNEWS: MICHIGAN SENATORS WANT SEX WITH DOGS

did you know that #Michigan senators last week passed a bill that put #oralsex and #analsex in the same #category as #beastiality so they could pass this absurd #bill and not violate the Lawrence vs Texas ruling that declared #sodomy bans #unconstitutional? i particularly love the 'destestable and abominable' language they use to describe such pleasureable acts (animals not included). i can understand that a guy might not want to deal with the land of fudge, but oral sex, too? do you really expect the Michigan voters to believe that you actually believe that oral sex is 'detestable and abominable'? i bet Todd Courser and Cindy Gamrat had some good ole Michigan fun before this went into act.

'oh baby, let me suck that dick of yours...mmm...i bet you're so big', says the slut

'excuse me ma'am, i do not participate in such detestable and abominable acts such as those', says the Michigan senator

no worries, #Missouri...your senators allow you to have all the #buttsex, #fellatio and #cunnilingus that you want!!!

#STLFW: Caleres Emerging Designer Award Presented by STL Fashion Fund

by June Ann D'Angelo

Last night fashion week in St. Louis kicked off it's series of 3 main fashion presentations with the Emerging Designer Award runway show. I literally saw looks from each designer that I wanted to work into my wardrobe. After the show I met up with some of my favorite STL fashion voices in the city (Laura Heying, Weird Cult(ure); Robby Baker; Katy Noonan, Living Collective) to rehash and it seems my favorites, NOVIS and Houghton, got everyone else a little wet with excitement as well. Although the print choice by NOVIS was rather polarizing, I found the use of them quite breathtaking. But nothing could touch the silhouettes and cohesion of Houghton that earned Katharine Polk a huge $25,000 cash prize!!!

Here's a little video of all the action below and to see individual looks in more detail, please checkout ALIVE Magazine's coverage by clicking HERE.

Furthering the passion to spotlight a new generation of innovative fashion designers, the mission of the Caleres Emerging Designer Award presented by Saint Louis Fashion Fund is to offer a platform for aspiring designers to gain the attention of national press and buyers, and to offer the grand prize of a cash grant to one designer.
