WHAT: Fashion Blogger Party

When I first walked in to Rung boutique I was kindly greeted with a name tag and was welcomed to shop around Rung and Sprung, their attached sister boutique. Knowing that Rung and Sprung were both consignment shops, with 90% of their inventory donated from business and individuals, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. As I first walked around Rung, I was very impressed with how well the abundance of merchandise was displayed, without being overwhelmed and crowded. One of the first things that I noticed was a simple black cocktail dress with asymmetrical embellishment at the neckline, which would be a perfect transition piece from a day at work to a night out. The Rung and sprung boutiques were supplied with many other women’s staple pieces and Rung even featured a designer clothing section, while Sprung had clothing for children and expecting mothers.
The items that caught my eye the most, however, were the accessories! The amount of various styles of earrings, statement necklaces, embellished handbags, and shoes galore was enough to keep me preoccupied for most of the night!
Although most of the jewelry is donated, Rung and Sprung boutiques also showcase a unique brand of jewelry called Hyper Haute. The brand features industrial necklaces; however, most of the pieces are on the expensive side compared to most of the other items and, especially as a college student, would take some saving.
As I continued to shop around, more and more bloggers arrived and we were all directed into the Sprung boutique for snacks and a fashion presentation. They first started the presentation by explaining Rung and Sprung’s goal, which is to benefit women and children in the St.Louis community by providing a high end boutique atmosphere and clothes to dress women for any job or aspiration while keeping prices low. They went on to explain that Rung and Sprung are non-profit organizations that donate proceeds to local women's and children’s charities. The presentation consisted of 5 trendy fall looks featuring clothing from Rung or Sprung and jewelry from Hyper Haute...
L to R: The first look consisted of skinny jeans paired with a watercolor shirt, and topped off with a structured jacket. The second look was a long sleeve, high-low dress, with an ethereal feel. The look was finished with a chunky Hyper Haute necklace. The third model wore a long sleeve chambray underneath a cheetah print sweater paired with skinny corduroy pants and black booties. She also carried an adorable mini red handbag. The fourth look, and my personal favorite, was a dark sequined cocktail dress paired with chic black heels and the amazing Hyper Haute ear cuff. The final look was a bold vintage, mod-style blue mini dress with a white geometric print. The model also wore silver arm cuffs adding to the vintage feel.
I am so glad I had the opportunity to attend the Rung and Sprung blogger party and meet so many interesting people while seeing how much fashion can do for the community, and finding a great new shopping spot!
